Mina Boromand est une artiste et photographe iranienne basée à Londres. Elle s’inspire de son parcours personnel suite à la révolution iranienne de 1979 qui l’a mené de l’Iran à l’Afghanistan puis de l’Union soviétique à la Grande-Bretagne. Atteinte d’aphantasie, une condition qui rend les images mentales impossibles, Boromand explore l’absence de ses souvenirs visuels dans ses recherches artistiques. Elle les utilise pour exprimer son expérience du déracinement et de l’exil. Boromand ajoute de nouvelles couches de matériaux à la surface de ses tirages photographiques, afin de se connecter visuellement à ses souvenirs et de donner vie au voyage à travers le temps et l’espace qui la sépare de son passé.
Boromand a obtenu en Bachelor en arts, spécialisé en photographie, à la London Metropolitan University - School of Art, Architecture and Design en 2021. Elle est la lauréate de la bourse Women in Photography 2022-2023 de la Royal Photographic Society et lauréate de la Carte blanche Étudiants 2021 de Paris Photo et de la Picto Foundation

Mina Boromand is an Iranian artist and photographer based in London. Her work is inspired by her personal journey following the Iranian revolution of 1979, which took her from Iran to Afghanistan and later from the Soviet Union to the UK. Suffering from aphantasia, a condition that makes mental images impossible, Boromand explores the absence of her visual memories in her artistic research. She uses them to express her experience of uprooting and exile. Boromand adds new layers of material to the surface of her photographic prints, in order to connect visually with her memories and bring to life the quest through time and space that separates her from her past.
Boromand graduated from the London Metropolitan University - School of Art, Architecture and Design in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Photography. She is the winner of the Women in Photography 2022-2023 scholarship from the Royal Photographic Society and the winner of the Carte blanche Étudiants 2021 from Paris Photo and the Picto Foundation.
